Fly

I want to learn how to fly
and the sky is waiting
so I will stretch out my wings
 and take off
and fly up, up and away.

February Poems

The Stream

 I sat by
the creek,
watching
the stream run it's course.

"Never straight,
always a curve,
always a bend,
runs the stream.

"Ever talking,
ever laughing,
ever roaring
never ceasing.

"Deep and wide,
narrow and shallow,
is the creek."
I thought to myself.

"Is not life
in many
ways
a stream?"

I mused
over this thought,
tossing it this way and that
like two people playing catch.

"At times we are
wide and deep in the Lord.
Many another
we are shallow and narrow
in our ways.

"In the end
we will be at
our destination.
Who knows when?"

I said this
aloud, my
eyes fixed
on the ever moving stream.

As I rose up
from my seat;
my eyes went
heavenward.

"Thank you, Lord,"
I whispered.
"I needed
that reminder."

I walked
away, feeling a bit
like a stream.

A Homeschool Day

 A homeschoolers house is grand,

With the sound of a toddlers band.

A cabinet with books galore,

And crayon marks on the floor.

A drooling baby in your lap,

finally the two-year-old takes a nap.

All you hear now is pens,

         writing reports on George Washington.

Lunch comes quick,

Now learn what makes people sick.

A few clicks on the laptop,

      Play, pause& stop.

Finished with math,

      Now give baby a bath.

History comes next,

          Now write in cursive text.

Another break, bake a cake,

Using of course an Easy Bake.

Dad comes home now what to do?

        Adriel found a kazoo.

Dinners on the table,

       Eat all you are able.

After dinner, pajamas and all,

       We go down the hall.

We say our prayers,

       then go upstairs.

"Warm Hearts"

I feel the love they give me
is greater than all things.
When any of them hug me,
my heart, it truly sings!

The morning's full of hugs
and warm pancakes and smiles.
I know that in this home
the love goes on for miles.

The afternoon is busy,
with work and school and play,
but even when we're busy,
we still enjoy the day.

In evening when it's cold out,
our love, it keeps us warm.
When i don't feel like smiling,
the hugs come with a swarm.

I love my family dearly,
and I'm glad in every way
that at least three people love me
at the end of everyday.

God's Nature

Birds sing a lovely song.
The trees dance along.
As the wind blows.
The river flows.
Rocks tumble.
The ground gives a rumble.
